Community Theatre for Over Forty Years!

Since its inception in 1963, the Players have presented over 150 plays for the entertainment of the people of Pinawa and the surrounding communities, who have continued to support the group enthusiatically over the years.

The Pinawa Players is a member of the Association of Community Theatres of Manitoba (A.C.T. Manitoba), an organization of similar groups from across the province and devoted to the promotion and development of amateur theatre.  Every year A.C.T. sponsors a drama festival hosted by one of its member groups at their home venue.

The Pinawa Players welcomes anyone with an interest in becoming involved in amateur stage production, whether it be acting or working backstage, such as makeup, lighting, sound, set construction, set decoration, props, stage management, costumes, publicity, etc.  No previous experience is required!

Productions are held twice a year, fall and spring.  It takes approximately three months of preparation for each play.  Everyone is invited to attend the play readings and decide how they would like to participate.

The Players also play an active role in community activities such as, the annual Pinawa Birthday Parade, sponsoring the annual Carol Sing at the Pinawa Shopping Mall at Christmas where all are invited to share songs of Yule, munch on caramel popcorn and sip hot apple cider.  The Players are also available to help out with the Pinawa Secondary School stage productions.
